The University of Northern Iowa Family Business Center (UNI FBC) will host its fourth annual Iowa Family Business Conference on Nov. 6 at Krause Gateway Center in Des Moines. Sessions will include speakers from Iowa-based companies such as Vermeer Corp. and Wells Enterprise and a keynote from Kevin Hancock, managing owner and chairman of Hancock Lumber in Maine and the sixth generation of his family to operate the business. “What if everybody on earth felt trusted, respected, valued and heard? What might change? I believe everything would change and that the place of work is the best place for this transformation to unfold,” Hancock said in a news release. “Companies and their leaders get whatever they consistently prioritize. In this talk, I will explore the benefits of making the employee experience the first priority of business.” A cocktail hour and tours of the Krause Gateway Center will follow the conference’s scheduled events.
