A deeper look into Pratum’s acquisition by Heartland Business Systems

Following a December 2022 acquisition, Ankeny-based cybersecurity firm Pratum has been transitioning its brand into Heartland Business Systems, a Wisconsin-based technology services provider with an Iowa office in Urbandale.  Pratum has kept its name in the Iowa market but will move the brand entirely under HBS in the coming months, a spokesperson wrote in an email. Midland GIS Solutions acquired by SAM Cos.

Midland GIS Solutions, a large full-service geographic information systems firm serving the Midwest, has been acquired by SAM Cos., an Austin, Texas-based provider of geospatial and construction services, the companies announced. Based in Maryville, Mo., Midland has provided GIS and GPS services to municipalities, counties, utility companies, state agencies and private sector organizations, including a number of Iowa clients, since 2000. VizyPay acquires payment processor Echo Daily

VizyPay, a West Des Moines-based payment processing company, has acquired Nevada-based competitor Echo Daily, the company announced last week. VizyPay will open a second office location in Lake Tahoe, Nev., and is gaining proprietary technology for a point-of-service loyalty program to expand existing service offerings to small business owners, the company said in a statement. 

Ramco Innovations acquires Richard Greene Company

West Des Moines-based automation services distributor Ramco Innovations acquired Richard Greene Company of St. Louis, Mo., Ramco announced this week. The acquisition will allow Ramco to expand in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska, and offer a larger product offering, said Hank Norem, president of Ramco Innovations. 

Involta acquires Ohio managed services firm IT|Lynk

Cedar Rapids-based Involta LLC is acquiring IT|Lynk, an IT managed services firm based in Independence, Ohio, reports the Corridor Business Journal. The deal is Involta’s second acquisition and increases the company’s Ohio footprint to four data centers and offices statewide. Involta reports it will retain all 18 IT|Lynk employees, growing Involta to 250 employees nationally.

Marco Technologies acquires Ticomix in Quad Cities

Five years after expanding from St. Cloud, Minnesota to the Quad Cities, Marco Technologies acquired Ticomix’s Infrastructure Support Services this year, adding eight new employees to the technology advisor. The Ticomix ISS team provides managed IT services, networking support and Cisco products to northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.

Pillar Technology to be acquired by Accenture Industry X.0

Pillar Technology has entered an acquisition agreement with Accenture Industry X.0, Accenture announced on Friday. Pillar Technology, based in Columbus, Ohio with offices in Des Moines, will integrate existing products into Industry X.0 following customary closing conditions. The agreement comes as Accenture simultaneously acquired electrical engineering and software development consultant Mindtribe. Financial terms were not disclosed.
