If you’re building a startup ecosystem, you’re prepared to accept that not every idea will make it in the business world. Might as well celebrate. That’s the idea behind the new Startup Funerals in Iowa City, hosted by the Iowa City Area Development Group, reports the Corridor Business Journal. ICAD hosted the inaugural Startup Funeral for Radiology Protocols on March 2 to “celebrate failure, support and moving forward” — with chips, salsa and margaritas. Before closing, Radiology Protocols developed radiology workflow products. The funeral idea is borrowed from California’s Silicon Valley, ICAD President Mark Nolte said. “We don’t want the potential of failure to inhibit people from taking a chance.”
