The Dwolla-sponsored event Monetery raised $10,265 for an after-school coding education program, Dwolla announced on Tuesday. More than 250 participants attended as panels of investors, entrepreneurs and community members explored what it takes to create value and diversity in the midwestern business community. All money raised was donated to Pi515, which educates underserved Iowa students – mainly refugees – in grades 7-12 on basic computer coding skills.
