Diagnostic research firm IDx is moving up in facilities to Coralville as it prepares to enter the U.S. marketplace, reports the Corridor Business Journal. The company was previously based in Iowa City. IDx recently made headlines when the FDA granted expedited review of IDx-DR, an AI-based diagnostic system for autonomous detection of diabetic retinopathy, a leading cause of blindness. If cleared by the federal agency, IDx-DR will be the first autonomous, AI-based diagnostic system intended for healthcare use.
