Mediacom Communications reports the company’s discounted broadband service, Connect2Compete, is now providing service to more than 1,000 low-income families with K-12 students, including 256 families in Iowa. The program partners with national nonprofit EveryoneOn to provide affordable, high-speed service to students who qualify for the National School Lunch program. Currently, 62 Iowa communities have eligible families that are paying $9.95 per month for internet service. The program waives equipment and installation fees for families.
