Securing a classroom door during an active shooter classroom drill takes too long, former teacher Daniel Nietzel, of Muscatine, thought, reports Radio Iowa. During active shooter drills, it took nearly as long to secure the door as the drill itself – two minutes to secure with belts and cords, and three to five minutes before the scenario had ended. Nietzel founded “Fighting Chance Solutions” and developed his flagship product the Sleeve, which fits over typical doors’ opening mechanism and blocks anyone from entering the room.
