The Iowa Lean Consortium (ILC) formally merged with Iowa State University’s Center for Industrial Research and Service (CIRAS) in July, the center announced in CIRAS News. In a statement, ILC executive director Teresa Hay McMahon said the merger will allow the ILC to grow while receiving administrative support through CIRAS. McMahon will continue to lead as executive director, and the ILC Board of Directors will continue to serve as an advisory entity, McMahon said. “CIRAS is committed to growing the ILC – our shared goal is to double ILC membership in two years. This means increased opportunities for tours, collaboration and learning,” McMahon said. “Access to CIRAS’ expertise in serving small- to mid-sized businesses helps us better understand the needs of Iowa companies and make a plan for reaching potential members.”
