The Greater Des Moines Partnership and Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) will launch Code DSM, a 15-week STEM programming academy, beginning January 2019.
An information session for those interested in enrolling is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 15 from 5:30-7 p.m. at DMACC’s Urban Campus Building 1, Room 126, the partnership announced Monday.
Students in the program will learn basic Java programming language and object-oriented programming, event handling, user interface programming and graphic techniques. Weekly coursework will split between five hours in the classroom and five hours online a week.
Last week, DMACC announced a separate partnership with Microsoft Corp. to launch the Microsoft Data Center Academy in West Des Moines, which also begins classes in January.
