PatientPing, a Boston-based health technology company that connects providers to coordinate patient care, today announced its launch in Iowa through a partnership with Mercy Health Network and its accountable care organization, Mercy ACO. Through Pings – real-time notifications when patients receive care – and Stories – important patient context at the point of care — Mercy ACO will be able to gain insight into patient movement both inside and outside of the ACO’s network. The partnership will also help Mercy Health Network better manage costs and improve care, the organizations said in a release. “Our new partnership with PatientPing will instantly inform our network and providers across Iowa about transitions of care, improving their ability to support patients on the road to better health,” said Dr. David Swieskowski, president of Mercy ACO. PatientPing said its network includes tens of thousands of providers and that it’s rapidly expanding nationwide.
