Des Moines businessman Chris Draper will be one of 25 individuals in Venture University’s third VC investor cohort, the trade school announced on Wednesday. Draper will serve as a VC Investor apprentice focused on emerging technology startups in Chicago and the broader midwest. He will remain as managing director of Des Moines startup Trokt during the cohort, and Trokt technology director Joe Vande Kieft will take on some of Draper’s day to day duties. Venture University is a multi-stage investment fund and trade school for angel investing, venture capital and private equity. The trade school is designed as an investor accelerator and includes both a VC/PE investment apprenticeship and academic program, according to Venture University.
