Kris Johansen, manager of industry engagement in the Office of Economic Development and Industry Relations (EDIR) and Iowa State University Startup Factory COO, has officially resigned from both posts to join the National Institute of Antimicrobial Resistance Research and Education (NIAMRRE). Johansen will join as director of external relations at NIAMRRE, which is hosted at Iowa State University. Johansen joined EDIR in August 2014 and has served as Startup Factory COO since it launched in June 2016; she was named interim director following Startup Factory President Bill Adamowski’s departure in February. A search for Johansen’s replacement will begin next month. The Startup Factory program will begin reporting directly to the ISU Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship, led by director Judi Eyles.
