Tickets are on sale and speakers are being finalized for the upcoming TEDx Des Moines event, scheduled for May 11 at Franklin Junior High. TEDx is an independently organized event that brings together speakers to share innovative and disruptive ideas. The theme “Through a Different Lens” aims to provide a platform for diverse perspectives and amplify unheard voices, organizers said in the event announcement. Organizers at Think Engage Des Moines received nearly 140 speaking applications and are currently in the selection process. The event is designed to take place in person with an accompanying livestream; however, it may later changed to a completely virtual event in accordance with COVID-19 guidelines at the time.
