The West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce has announced the second annual Athene Black & Brown Business Summit Pitch Competition, scheduled for April 21. The deadline to submit an application to participate is March 1. Applicants must be at least 51% minority-owned, have been in business for at least two years and be a for-profit business. So far, $38,000 has been raised for cash prizes. The Athene Black & Brown Business Summit was created to elevate minority-owned businesses and bring them together with programming, promotion, training and other resources to help them grow and prosper. The summit will bring people from entrepreneurs to seasoned companies together at Athene in West Des Moines. It will include breakout sessions led by top experts, keynote speakers and more.
