Jess Louis joined the Global Insurance Accelerator as its program manager this week, the accelerator announced on its blog. She will oversee the GIA’s programming with managing director Dan Israel, who started transitioning into his new role in May.

Louis’ most recent role was with the Boys and Girls Club of Central Iowa, running its volunteer program including volunteers at the club and its events. She began her career in operations and management at the Ronald McDonald House Charities. According to the blog post, a transition plan has been put into place to ensure that all of GIA’s programming for the upcoming year continues to set the benchmark for early-stage startup accelerators.

“The GIA is known for its programming, especially our 100-day accelerator and our world-class mentorship program,” Israel said in a prepared statement. “Jess brings an incredible skill set focused on driving both operations and volunteerism that will make her an invaluable addition to our team at the GIA.” Louis graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in child, adult and family services and human services.
