The Ames Community Arts Council and the Octagon Center for the Arts announced that registration is now open for the Business of Art conference scheduled for March 3-4 at Reiman Gardens in Ames. The conference is designed to strengthen business skills and provide resources for both formally trained and self-taught creatives of all types, according to a news release.
The conference’s keynote speaker will be Ash Hanson, the executive director of the Department of Public Transformation, an artist-led nonprofit working at the intersection of creativity and civic life in rural communities. Professionals and students in all types of creative work, part time or full time, in all stages of their career are welcome.
