The North Iowa Area Community College John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center will hold the 26th Youth Entrepreneurial Academy on June 12-16, followed by pitch presentations. The academy has been designed to help students launch their own businesses with a chance to earn seed money using a curriculum called the Business Model Canvas. The pitch presentations will be held June 20 on NIACC’s campus, where students will compete for $500 in seed money in front of a panel. Participants will receive an automatic $500 Youth Entrepreneurial Academy Scholarship for NIACC for completing the academy. Those who don’t receive seed funding the first year can return to participate for a second year. The weeklong event will be free to students because of the financial support from the John K. and Luise V. Hanson Foundation.
