The Iowa Department of Management’s Division of Information Technology (DOM DoIT) announced June 14 it has opened the window for rebuttals to challenges of the state’s broadband map, which will be used for Iowa’s Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment Program (BEAD). The goal of the map is to provide an accurate accounting of areas that have high-speed internet access and those that don’t. Internet service providers and other eligible challengers have until July 29 to submit evidence to support or dispute challenges. DOM DoIT will issue final rulings within 45 days of a rebuttal. For challenges related to location eligibility, only the challenged service provider may rebut the reclassification of a location or area with evidence. For more information on how internet service providers can rebut a challenge, view this document.
