Terraform Tillage and My Nurse Healthcare were named the winners of the REV pitch competition held by Advance Southwest Iowa and TS Bank in November. Ag-tech startup Terraform Tillage won $15,000 and My Nurse Healthcare received $4,000. Terraform Tillage has developed the SmartProbe System, a patented technology that supports soil compaction mapping. The technology allows ag producers to connect a smartphone to a soil penetrometer turning traditional readings into data visualizations. Terraform Tillage plans to use the $15,000 to advance its research and development efforts. Council Bluffs-based My Nurse Healthcare provides tailored nurse concierge and personal care services and serves as a liaison between patients and doctors. The company will use the funding for virtual dementia training for employees and CPR manikins. The three other finalists in the competition were Breeze Bakery of Bellevue, Countryside Market, a local grocery store in Minden, and the Lilypop Shop of Treynor. In addition to the pitch competition winners, the Council Bluffs Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy, one of the event’s spotlight businesses, was selected as this year’s People’s Choice Award winner, receiving a $500 cash prize.
