John Deere unveils second generation autonomous equipment, technology

John Deere announced Monday new autonomous machines and technology at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The new lineup of machines aims to serve customers in agriculture, construction and commercial landscaping with a combination of advanced computer vision, AI, and cameras, according to a news release. John Deere’s new technology will be available on its tractor for large-scale agriculture, orchard tractor for air blast spraying, dump truck for quarry operations and battery electric mower. “Our agriculture, construction, and commercial landscaping customers all have work that must get done at certain times of the day and year, yet there is not enough available and skilled labor to do the work,” Jahmy Hindman, John Deere’s chief technology officer, said in a prepared statement. “Autonomy can help address this challenge. That’s why we’re extending our technology stack to enable more machines to operate safely and autonomously in unique and complex environments.” John Deere first unveiled its autonomous technology at the 2022 CES.
