Morningside University announced the appointment of Paula Kueter as the inaugural director of its newly established Larry & Joan Arnold Center for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development, made possible by a $1 million gift from alumni Larry and Joan Arnold. Kueter most recently served as director of the Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurial Outreach and the Buchanan Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership at Drake University. There, she founded the Great Plains Entrepreneurial Consortium and led academic programming for an entrepreneurial minor. The entrepreneurship center at Morningside aims to develop successful entrepreneurs and build a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem through curricular and experiential opportunities, business incubation, community partnerships and student-led enterprises. The center will host workshops, pitch competitions and venture support services and be a critical connector between Morningside students, faculty, alumni and the broader Siouxland entrepreneurial community. “It is an honor to join Morningside University and help bring the Arnolds’ incredible vision to life,” Kueter said in a news release. “Entrepreneurship is not just about starting businesses — it’s about empowering people, strengthening communities and creating opportunities. I look forward to working with students, faculty, alumni and community leaders to build something truly transformative.”
