American PCS, a provider of IT support and cybersecurity services in the Council Bluffs and Omaha metro area, announced an expansion of its Cybersecurity Grant Program for nonprofits. Originally launched in June 2024 with a focus on penetration testing, the program has now been updated to include a comprehensive cybersecurity assessment alongside penetration testing to provide deeper protection, a news release said. American PCS’ enhanced grant program helps eligible nonprofits proactively identify vulnerabilities, prioritize risks and strengthen their overall cybersecurity defenses. “Our local nonprofits play a vital role in supporting our community, and it’s critical that they have access to the tools needed to defend themselves,” Nate Roane, president and CEO of American PCS, said in the release. “By expanding our cybersecurity grant program, we’re providing them with even stronger protection against digital threats like ransomware and phishing attacks.” Grant recipients will be selected based on the demonstrated need and potential impact of the enhanced cybersecurity measures on their operations. Eligible nonprofits must be a registered 501(c)(3) organization headquartered in Iowa or Nebraska. Applications are open now and are due by June 1.
