Buena Vista University’s Institute for Agriculture has announced the launch of AgTalks @ BVU, a new speaker series bringing leaders, innovators and experts in agriculture to campus. The series will explore how agriculture intersects with health, science, education and everyday life. The first event at 4 p.m. Sept. 18 will feature Andrew Hennenfent, the state public health veterinarian, presenting “Zoonotic Diseases Respect No Boundaries.” His talk will focus on the intersection between agriculture and health, examining how animal health, human science and global risk are connected. The event will be held in the Estelle Siebens Science Center Room 126 on Buena Vista’s campus. Following every presentation, attendees are invited to an informal reception. All AgTalks @ BVU events are free and open to the public. To view all upcoming events, visit the BVU calendar.
