NewBoCo will lead the ecosystem building components for the Iowa Aviation Technology Center, a regional effort to strengthen Iowa’s economy by expanding aerospace and aviation workforce capacity, innovation and entrepreneurship. The nonprofit received philanthropic support from JPMorganChase for the initiative. NewBoCo’s goal is to help position Iowa as a global powerhouse in the aerospace industry through collaborative efforts that will fill current and projected workforce gaps, support educational programming and workforce development initiatives that address specific industry needs and increase accessibility to related career paths for more students, a news release said. NewBoCo’s components of this project aim to guide more aerospace entrepreneurs from research to market and increase access to growth opportunities. The initiative will establish an advisory group and strengthen partnerships among educational institutions, industry, government, economic development organizations and other stakeholders.
