NewBoCo hosting Startup Sprint April 10-11 at Coe College

Entrepreneurs, students and innovators from across Eastern Iowa are invited to a Startup Sprint, a fast-paced entrepreneurial event hosted by NewBoCo on April 10-11 at Coe College’s Center for Health and Society in Cedar Rapids. Startup Sprint is a collaborative, hands-on experience where participants pitch ideas, form teams and spend a day and a half turning those ideas into potential businesses. The event begins Friday evening with one-minute idea pitches and team formation. On Saturday, teams work together to research their concept, validate their idea and develop a final pitch to present to judges and a live audience. “Startup Sprint is about giving people the opportunity to test an idea, meet collaborators and experience what it’s really like to build something from scratch,” said Jan Finlayson, event lead for Startup Sprint at NewBoCo, in a prepared statement. “In just a day and a half, participants go from a simple idea to a real pitch. Along the way they build skills, confidence and connections within the entrepreneurial community.” The event is open to participants of all backgrounds and experience levels. By the end of the event, teams will present their ideas and compete for prizes while receiving feedback from experienced entrepreneurs and community leaders. Registration for Startup Sprint is now open, and space is limited. To learn more or register, visit newbo.co.
