Tickets are still available for EntreFEST 2018, scheduled for May 17-18 in downtown Cedar Rapids.

Presented by the New Bohemian Innovation Collaborative and the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, EntreFEST organizers bill it as one of the largest celebrations of the Midwest’s entrepreneurial community; panels advertised by EntreFEST focus on female founders, cybersecurity, creativity in the workplace and emerging technology.

First held in downtown Iowa City in 2008, EntreFEST was founded and originally managed by the University of Northern Iowa’s Center for Business Growth and Innovation. NewBoCo took over operations in 2016 and put the annual event on pause for a year while hiring year-round operational staff. EntreFEST returned to Iowa City in 2017, but this year will move to NewBoCo’s home territory in downtown Cedar Rapids.

Sessions are led by 45 speakers during the event, with EntreFEST’s keynote delivered by Scott Belsky, Adobe’s chief product officer and the founder of Behance, which Adobe acquired in 2012.

Regional speakers include some names and firms familiar to Greater Des Moines, including: Liz Lidgett, founder and CEO of Adore Your Walls; Jordan Hobfoll, statewide SBIR/STTR coordinator at the Iowa Innovation Corp.; Chris Burns, director of business development, and Matt Smith, experience director, both of Shift Interactive; Jill Lippincott, project manager at the Iowa Economic Development Authority; and more. A full list of speakers is available here.
