THE HUSTLE: Hustle was apparently feeling the pull of the Midwest this past weekend when they published this dive into the land of prairies and corn. They came to pretty much the same conclusion people in Des Moines have been telling me for the last four months: the Midwest is cheaper, and friendlier, undervalued, and has a bit of mojo that’s been lacking in the San Francisco environment. It turns out we also produce 19 percent of all U.S. patents, 25 percent of all computer science graduates and yet only access about 5 percent of all venture capital funding.
