Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate has been reappointed to a national cybersecurity risk mitigation committee, Pate’s office announced today.
Secretary Pate was a charter member of the Election Infrastructure Subsector Government Coordinating Council (EIS-GCC) during the council’s creation in October 2017. The council meets regularly with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Election Assistance Commission to establish communication protocols, resources for state and local governments, and review best practices for cybersecurity, Pate said in a statement.
“We must remain constantly vigilant to protect the integrity of our elections. it requires a team effort and the EIS-GCC is fully committed to the goal of clean and fair elections across the country,” Pate said.
