A new partnership between the University of Iowa’s College of Pharmacy, the Office of Healthcare Leadership Education and the Tippie College of Business is offering pharmacy students some business-savvy training not traditionally provided to them. Students have the option to take six business courses offered over three semesters that are tailored directly for pharmacy students, with course design input from practicing pharmaceutical alumni. Organizers say the classes will help future pharmacists run small businesses and more effectively manage healthcare costs.
