California-based Sectigo, a leader in web security platforms, has acquired West Des Moines-based Icon Labs, which provides cross-platform security solutions for internet of things (IoT) device manufacturers, Sectigo announced today. Sectigo’s expanded IoT Security Platform will provide device manufacturers, systems integrators and enterprises using connected IoT with the ability to use purpose-built IoT issuance from a trusted third-party certificate authority. The platform will harden device security with embedded tools to protect the integrity of data in transit and at rest, as well as ensure the integrity of all executed code by leveraging multiphase secure boot. Icon Labs was founded in 1992 and serves more than 100 customers worldwide, and its products have been deployed in applications including communication infrastructure equipment, transportation systems, satellite communications and industrial control devices.
