The U.S. House of Representatives’ Congressional App Challenge is now open to middle school and high school students to compete, the CAC announced. The competition is open to students in Iowa’s 1st Congressional District (Rep. Abby Finkenauer) and 3rd Congressional District (Rep. Cindy Axne), and each challenge is district-specific. Winning apps may be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year. The contest was founded by House Resolution 77 in 2013 after the U.S. House of Representatives and the Internet Education Foundation partnered to build computer science and STEM education. In the first four years of the challenge, more than 14,000 students in 48 states have participated.
