The Iowa Innovation Challenge awarded $81,000 to 65 businesses launched by University of Iowa faculty, staff, students and incubator startups during the inaugural elevator pitch competition, UI announced this week. The Iowa Innovation Challenge is a new partnership between the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (Iowa JPEC), the Office of the Vice President for Research, the University of Iowa Research Foundation and UI Ventures, with a goal of awarding $225,000 over the 2019-2020 academic year. The next phase of the Iowa Innovation Challenge will take place in spring 2020. A full list of award winners is available online.
