Unity Point Health-Des Moines is partnering with Qventus, a clincal operations system using machine learning, artificial intelligence and behavioral science, to optimize and streamline patient flow and discharge processes. The Qventus Inpatient Solution processes data in real time, the first health care operations system to do so. AI will predict the time and location of discharge and identify barriers while machine learning will help staff coordinate and prioritize orders for services like physical therapy. The president and CEO of Unity Point Health-Des Moines, David Stark, said the system will allow care teams to better collaborate in real time and “to consistently deliver a superior care experience from admission to discharge.” Patients can expect reduced wait times, improved transparency and an overall enhancement in the patient experience. Mudit Garg, the co-founder and CEO of Qventus, said: “Optimizing operations has never been more critical for health systems and hospitals. Patient flow is a classic win-win: It dramatically enhances the care experience for patients and improves the clinical environment for care teams.” Read more.
