The Iowa Center for Economic Success is holding an event on Jan. 26 to share the details of its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA), which provides tax preparation services to small businesses and low-income individuals and families. The session will cover background on the program, who is eligible for these services, how to access them and what to expect during the meeting. The Iowa Center and its partners host the program at 80 sites across the state. The event will be held from 9-10 a.m. at Polk County River Place, 2309 Euclid Ave. in Des Moines. In 2023, the program provided tax preparation services for 12,629 Iowans who received over $17 million in state and federal refunds. More information on the event is available here.
