The Department of Management Division of Information Technology, formerly the Office of the Chief Information Officer, is requesting public comment on the state of Iowa Digital Equity Plan. The plan details Iowa’s proposed implementation of digital equity funding made possible through the Digital Equity Act of 2021, which is funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, also known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. It outlines the results of research and outreach efforts to set baseline conditions and goals for addressing digital equity opportunities in Iowa. Funding used to develop the plan is administered by the National Telecommunications and Infrastructure Administration. Comments are due by 5 p.m. Feb. 2 and can be submitted at comment.iowa.gov, where a PDF version of the plan can also be viewed. Questions about the Digital Equity Plan can be directed to broadband@iowa.gov.
