The Celebrate! Innovation (ciLive! 12) annual speaker series at Des Moines Area Community College will be held virtually March 10-11 and will livestream all speaker presentations via e360tv, YouTube and Facebook Live, DMACC announced this week. DMACC receives donation from Mercedes-Benz for automotive technology center

Mercedes-Benz USA donated a 2015 C300 vehicle and a Xentry diagnosis kit to the Des Moines Area Community College Automotive Technology program, the first donation by Mercedes-Benz, DMACC announced this week. DMACC and Microsoft are co-hosting a free “Careers 4 Women in Technology” virtual event available to young women interested in pursuing a career in technology, DMACC announced this week. DMACC to waive all online, web-blended technology fees for summer class term

Des Moines Area Community College is waiving all online and web-blended technology fees for students taking summer term classes, the college announced on Wednesday. Fees are typically $30 per credit hour for online classes and $20 per credit hour for web-blended classes. Students who have already paid for summer courses will be refunded. DMACC’s summer term begins May 26.

DMACC Boone Campus student Pedro Salazar of Des Moines has been selected as a summer 2020 NASA internship recipient. DMACC opens VR, AR-enabled data center training lab

Des Moines Area Community College is opening a new training lab featuring virtual reality and augmented reality technologies at the West DMACC Campus Microsoft Datacenter Academy. Microsoft is providing $30,000 in funding support for the first phase of the new Virtual Learning Lab’s production. Facebook and Des Moines Area Community College hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new digital classroom located on DMACC’s Ankeny campus. DMACC West Campus provost named chair of 2020 International Space Development Conference

Anthony Paustian, provost of the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) West Campus and founder of Celebrate! Innovation Live (ciLive) at DMACC, has been named chair of the 2020 International Space Development Conference. ISDC is the annual conference of the National Space Society, bringing together leading managers, engineers, scientists, educators and business professionals from space advocacy sectors. Paustian was named chair during this year’s ISDC conference, held in Washington, D.C.
