On International Women’s Day, a sobering stat: Just 0.2 percent of all venture capital dollars are invested in startups led by women of color, reports Inc.com. There are some startup founders trying to change the way business is done. Last year, 30 startups pooled together to establish the 22X Fund, which allows investors to buy into a pool of equity from all the involved companies. Although not fully female, a little under 20 percent of the companies are female-led – giving those women an edge over traditional venture capital markets, where 2 percent of funding in 2017 went to women.
