Two rural entrepreneurship initiatives receive IEDA grants

The Iowa Economic Development Authority Board approved grants Friday to two initiatives supporting rural entrepreneurs through the Entrepreneurial Investment Award program. The program provides financial assistance to service providers that offer technical and financial assistance to entrepreneurs and startup companies. Hub712, coordinated by Carroll County Growth Partnership, was awarded a $200,000 grant from the EIA program to support startup costs for the first year, including outreach, contract specialists and personnel.

IEDA awards NewBoCo $100K grant for Community Partners Pilot Program

The Iowa Economic Development Authority at its Friday meeting awarded Cedar Rapids-based nonprofit NewBoCo a $100,000 grant through the Entrepreneurial Investment Awards Program. NewBoCo will use the grant to launch its Community Partners Pilot Program in Mason City and Mount Pleasant, which will work to fill gaps in the local entrepreneurial environment by combining NewBoCo programming and resources with each community’s expertise, partnerships and resources.
